Abstract:
In this paper, Part B of the quantum gravity framework project 5, I discuss a set of postulates to understand life and consciousness, and introduce the basic concepts to be further updated in future versions. In the quantum gravity framework project 5 (Part A), I discussed four postulates for the quantum general relativistic framework to understand time evolution and quantum reduction. Based on this, I propose a second set of postulates to explain the phenomena of life and consciousness in the universe. First, we review the theories and observations of consciousness. From this, we come up with some axioms on the nature of consciousness. I discuss mathematical measures to calculate the complexity of relational structures. Then, based on these, I discuss five sets of postulates on the physical foundations of consciousness from a quantum mechanical background. I discuss the relationship between consciousness and physical processes in the neural systems. In this, I introduce the concept of interaction binding of consciousness and rules based on which it happens. I discuss a model to understand the effect of conscious free will in altering standard quantum reduction probabilities. We discuss the potential possibility of retrocausal effects on consciousness-influenced reduction probability. I discuss experiments to verify these. This paper has been replaced by v1.2 and v1.3 with extensive updates.
